Portfolio Task 6

                                 Portfolio Task 6
The question of a global currency is a complex one. The European union has the Euro which has replaced local currencies such as the franc or the lira. However, the mechanisms are complex and many feel it is better to return a national currency.
Trade between nations has to take place using a currency exchange mechanism. Travel can include negstiating a wide variety of different currencies. So there is an argument to allow for one currency. On the other hand, banks make a lot of profit from trade in international exchanges. So opinion is divided. I think that a bank note is a national emblem and the guarantor of the note rejects the global view of their promise. In the UAE, the central back controls the currency.
In the UK, it is the Bank of England. Therefore countries vie with each other to negotiate on the trading mechanisms.
Therefore, it is better to keep national identity on the bank note but at the same time there is much to be said for the convenience of a single currency.

Portfolio Task 5

                                    Portfolio Task 5
The line graph gives statistics for annual trips to Australia by overseas residents. In addition, there is also a table with data on the country of origin of the visitors. Overall, between 1975 and 2005 the numbers rose from 10million to more than 30million.
In 1975 most of the visitors were from Japan and this is still true in 2005 but there has been an increase from 3.2million to 12million. The 2nd biggest number is from south Korea with a three-fold increase. The number from Europe increased dramatically from 1.1 to 4.5million. Other countries in the table were china but they had the smallest amount of visitors, along with the USA and Britain.
In conclusion, Australia is becoming more popular with long distance travelers by almost a factor of 4. This is because air travel is more affordable for people and they are prepaid to go further.

Portfolio Task 4

                  Portfolio Task 4

Nowadays, with the fast development, some people think that a sense of competition is important. Parents are holding higher and higher expectations for their children. From my point of view, both a sense of competition and a sense of cooperation play a crucially important role in the growth of children.
Some people think children should be taught to work hard to achieve their needs. The competition between man and nature, man and man, originated from Darwinism. For example, you can only get into some universities if your GPA score is over 2.5 or 3.0; competition is a good thing when it is used for good reasons.
To help other people is very important in some cases. For example sometimes you can’t do something alone and you must work in a team to get whatever done; not all people have the same skills; all people have different skills to be a part of the team and give them the skills for their future work.
In conclusion, it is very important for children to become team players. It is also very important for them to be able to win. So , both of those skills are important in different situations. I think that to be part of the team is more important than competition skills, because you need to work with other people more often than compete with them.

Balanced Diet

                                 Portfolio Task 3
Many people believe that a balanced diet is very good health and too much fast food can lead to a life threatening problems. However, having a balanced diet is not affecting too much.
First of all, let’s see why a balanced diet is so important. Too much fast food and other full fat food or food high in sugar hand, avoiding entirely food that contains high fat, such as buffalo meat, will deprive us of important ingredients such as protein, which are essential for healthy life.
Furthermore, many people say that a balanced diet in our daily life is preventing our body having vitamins and other needed nutrition. Moreover, people and experts say that exercise for example, contributes to physical and mental well-being. For example if people start to make a good food program and take exercise for at least 30 minutes a day it will be very good for a health and body.
In conclusion, experts say it’s a good idea to follow a diet and take some exercise everyday, it is very healthy and makes your body  healthier and you should live longer.

Mobile Phones

                                               Mobile phones
There is a lot of research about using mobile phones while driving cars. Also a lot of agreement and disagreement about this case. But anyways a lot of accidents nowadays are from the wrong way of using mobile phones while driving.
Of course there are two ways for any argument. However, hands-free devices don’t eliminate the risk of causing an accident and even it may worsen it by suggesting that the behavior is safe. Research shows that using a headset can be as dangerous as holding a phone because the conversation distracts drivers from focusing on the road. Scientists have proven that people talking over the phone images the person who they are talking to and that doesn’t interfere with driving.
Opponents say that cell phones are good because they give an opportunity to make a call in case of emergency. However, it is an illusion of safety because when people need it they are stuck in the car. People just don’t seem to understand how distracting their telephone conversations are.
In conclusion, if people don’t give up cell-phones the number of fatalities on the roads will still increase. It is people’s responsibility to not endanger their own and other people’s lives. In my opinion, people should put a sound message for who’s calling them that they are driving so they will know that they can’t talk.

Line graph

Population growth 1750 to 2150

World population growth

The line graph shows population growth in richer and poorer countries between 1750 and 2150. It is based on the United Nations World Population Prospects, the 1998 Revision, and estimates by the Population Reference Bureau.

In 1750 the total world population was less than one billion and the population of less developed countries was three or four times greater than that of more developed countries. By 2000 the total figure was 6.1 billion, but only about 1 billion were in the more developed countries. The estimate is that by 2150 the total world population will be well over 10 billion but the total for the more developed countries will remain at about one billion and may even fall slightly.

It is estimated that the total world population will increase dramatically over the next 150 years but that this growth will be entirely in the less developed countries .

  Portfolio Task 2

The chart below shows the reasons for study according to their ages and the second graph shows the employer support also by age group.

First of all, students under the age of 26 study for their career 7 times more than they study for their interest. The second group is between 26 and 29 which shows 70% students study for their career while 15% students study for their interest. On the other hand, the students who study for their interest is directly proportional with the age group, so the number of students increase as the age increases. Employer support is more commonly given to younger students.

To sum up I would say that the number of students who study for career decreases with age. Therefore when people get older they study for their interest.
